Greetings!

I’m Pam Cammisa, a body-mind practitioner with a 33+ year background in physical therapy, bodywork, and wellness coaching. I blend hands-on techniques with nervous system regulation, somatic awareness practices, and Internal Family Systems (IFS)-informed dialogue to help you better understand the complexity and nuance of your system so you can respond in new ways. Basically, I help you decode the "language" of your body so you can stop reacting and start responding.

As a Gen X woman, I know the pressure of trying to do it all! Somewhere along the way, many of us learned to ignore our internal signals and "suck it up", even when we were wired, tired, and juggling all the things!

My career has taken me through a multitude of trauma hospitals, nursing homes, and sports clinics, working with people in pain, injured, overwhelmed, confused, and everything in between. I quickly realized that treating just a person's symptoms alone was not healing the root cause of their issue. Real change happens when we listen to the language and wisdom of the body-mind connection.

Helping ease the suffering of others has become my life's work. Over the years, I've learned that some of the most meaningful healing happens when people understand what their body and nervous system are trying to communicate. When we learn to regulate our system, respond to stress differently, and quiet unnecessary alarm signals, it changes how we think, feel, behave, and move through the world. To me, these skills are some of the most empowering gifts, to develop tools that support us not just in moments of struggle, but throughout every stage of life.

Being naturally empathetic and sensitive (a self-confessed "anxious over-functioner") I was deeply affected by others’ suffering and would mentally get in the “sick bed” with my patients. Turns out, that’s not a great long-term strategy! This pattern along with other challenging life experiences, lead to panic attacks, chronic headaches, Illness anxiety, hypervigilance, and fear avoidance. So, I started my journey early in life, to gain understanding, find tools and heal myself (which is ongoing). The practices I share now, are evidence-based techniques I use daily.

My approach is science-informed, practical, and collaborative. I’ll help you tune in, make sense of what your body is telling you, and build simple tools to help you stay more grounded through life’s challenges, and we’ll share a few laughs along the way.
